Gainesville, FL (March 14, 2017) John Gaydosh races with a small budget but a huge heart. Everything he does and all the sacrifices he makes are so he can race his Chevrolet Camaro Pro Stock. This weekend he is excited to get back in the driver’s seat and compete at the 2017 Amalie Oil NHRA Gatornationals at Gainesville Raceway.

“Nobody out here at the track wants to race more than me. I want to race in the NHRA Mello Yello Drag Racing series more than anyone,” exclaimed Gaydosh. “Our volunteer crew all come out to help me race Pro Stock because I love it so much.”

Gaydosh first started racing when he was 16 years-old in a 1969 Grand Prix. His first race was at Cecil County Dragway in Maryland. Gaydosh was hooked right away and has been drag racing ever since.

Gaydosh Performance is one of the smaller independent Pro Stock teams racing alongside the juggernaut teams with larger budgets. He put up his house to buy his first Pro Stock in 2008 from Jim Yates. Gaydosh has a day job repairing big truck engines and spends long nights earning extra money working on Pontiac engines. It’s all so he can bring his Gaydosh Performance Chevrolet Camaro to the track.

“Nobody knows just how much I sacrifice to be here at the races.” said Gaydosh. “I also have to thank the Gray family and Pypes Performance Exhaust for their help and support. It means the world to me.”

Gaydosh is in Bradenton, Florida this week to test his Chevrolet Camaro before the Gatornationals get underway on Friday.
